What we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and role in the business.
• Business details: legal name, address, USDOT and MC numbers, what the business does, revenue, payroll, employees, vehicles, drivers, operating area, cargo and the coverage you want.
• Underwriting details: driver license and driving history, prior insurance, claims and loss history, and other answers an insurance company needs to quote.
• Documents and messages you send us, such as loss runs, declarations pages, leases and emails.

Lead forms on Facebook and Instagram

If you fill out a Florin form inside a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta sends us what you submitted: usually your name, email, phone number and your answers, such as your USDOT number and when you need coverage.

Policy information you choose to connect

Our application can let you connect an existing insurance account through Canopy Connect so we can read your current policy instead of asking you to type it in. We receive that information only if you choose to connect.

Public records

For trucking and transportation businesses, we use public Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) records, including registration details, contact information on file, fleet size, operating authority status and insurance filings. We use them to understand an operation before we quote it and to reach businesses that may need coverage.

Information collected automatically

When you use florin.inc, we and our providers collect device and usage information such as browser type, pages viewed, referring links and approximate location from your IP address. We use Google Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights for this. We also set a cookie that keeps your application draft saved so you can come back to it.

How we use it

• To review your request, compare coverage options and prepare applications.
• To submit your information to insurance companies and wholesale brokers when you ask us to quote.
• To contact you by email or phone about your request, including reminders about an unfinished application.
• To service policies you buy through us, including renewals, certificates and claims help.
• To tell businesses about our services, and to measure and improve our website and ads.
• To prevent fraud, keep records required of insurance agencies and comply with the law.

We do not send marketing text messages unless you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out of marketing email at any time with the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.

Who we share it with

• Insurance companies and wholesale brokers that quote, underwrite and issue coverage you ask us to find.
• Service providers that run parts of our business for us, such as website hosting, databases, email delivery, analytics and document tools. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
• Advertising platforms such as Meta and Google. We may give them contact details, which they convert to a coded form (hashed) before matching, so they can show our ads to businesses we want to reach or stop showing ads to existing customers. We also use their tools to count how many people respond to an ad.
• Authorities and others when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Your choices

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
• Ask us to stop contacting you, or to stop using your details for ad audiences.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

Email alex@florin.inc with your request. We may need to confirm your identity first. Some state laws, including California’s, give residents additional rights, and we will honor them where they apply. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. We may keep information we are required to keep, such as insurance records, even after a deletion request.

How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we need it to handle your request and any policy you buy, and for as long as insurance record-keeping laws require, which is often several years after a policy ends.

Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit and restricted staff access to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please email documents only to addresses we give you.

Children

Our services are for businesses and are not directed to anyone under 18.
